POSITIONS AND VIEWS

I currently serve on the Chelsea School Board and have done so since first elected in 2020. During that time, I have served as both President and Vice President. Below is a summary of what I have helped accomplish during my first term — and what I will continue to fight for if reelected.
ACHIEVEMENTS DURING MY TENURE
Fiscal Stewardship
• Protected the district's financial security by passing budgets that maintain a healthy fund balance (reserve).
• Passed budgets and approved contracts that support our staff and teachers.
• Oversaw the use of construction bond funds to make major improvements to district facilities.
Safety & Security
• Supported the hiring of additional staff, from a Safety and Security Director to additional counselors and mental health professionals for the district.
• Supported numerous physical improvements such as the addition of cameras and secure entrances.
Governance & Transparency
• Improved public access to board actions by instituting live streaming of board meetings.
• As a member of the Policy Committee, spent over a year with fellow committee members reviewing and updating all of the district's policies to better reflect the needs of the district and community.
Education
• Reduced the number of inefficient and disruptive half days, providing students with more focused learning time and better professional development opportunities for staff.
• Pushed the administration to develop specific, measurable goals for educational growth and proficiency, including changes to the curriculum review process to ensure those goals can be met.
WHY I AM RUNNING FOR REELECTION
While I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish during my first term, I believe there is much more that can be done — and I am in the best position to see that it happens. My knowledge and experience from these last six years give me the insight on how best to make changes happen.
If reelected, my main goals are:
• Improve the curriculum review process — ensure that clearly defined goals are established for how we can improve our students' performance.
• Challenge and prepare our students — ensure that our students have the opportunity for an education and experience that challenges them academically and provides them with the foundation for success after graduation.
